Wi-Fi 7 Technology
Recently, an American company Calcom has suggested that India should adopt modern Wi-Fi 7 technology.
WiFi:
- It is a wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to provide wireless high-speed Internet access.
- It enables the device to connect to the Internet and communicate with other devices.
- We need three mediums for WiFi signal transmission.
- Router
- Base Station
- Accessing devices, like Phone, Laptop etc.
Wi-Fi 7:
- Wi-Fi 7 next generation standard is based on IEEE 802.11 Be – EHT (Extremely High Throughput).
- The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to the advancement of technology.
Key Features of Wi-Fi 7:
- This technology connects to devices in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands without any new hardware.
- This technology will use a mix of available spectrum frequencies to provide better speeds, rather than being limited to a single frequency.
- This technology enables faster cloud-based tasks like sending files and gaming.
- This technology combines multiple channels at different frequencies to improve the network system.
- This technology can support up to 330 gigabits per second of bandwidth per access point, which is four times faster than Wi-Fi.
Benefits of Wi-Fi 7
- Wi-Fi 7 technology enables India to use its wireless application services and rapidly adopt government digital initiatives related to privacy protection.
- Adoption of this technology will provide tele-surgery and tele-diagnostics.
- This technology will prove to be very useful for developing the possibilities of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence in the enterprise sector.
- This technology can facilitate streaming of high-resolution content like 8K video.
- This technology is capable of meeting the needs of emerging technologies.
