1. Stages of the Exam:

There are three important steps of MPPSC exam:

• Preliminary Exam (Prelims)

2. Preliminary Exam (Prelims):

This is known to be the first section of the exam.

It includes two papers as follows:

• General Studies Paper I: It consists various subjects such as history, geography, Indian polity, Current events.
• General Studies Paper II (CSAT): This is a qualifying paper based on comprehension, reasoning and apptitude tests.

Both papers are of 200 marks each and consist of Multiple choice type questions (MCQs).

3. Main Exam (Mains):

Those candidates who clear the Prelims are then eligible for the Mains Exam.

This consists of six papers:

• General Studies Papers I, II, III, IV: These include the Indian History, Geography, Indian Economy, and Ethics etc.
• Optional Subject paper: Candidates are to select one subject from a given choice.
• Essay Paper: You will be provided topics and write essays on them.

 It must be noted that each paper carries 250 marks.

4. Interview stage: (Personality Test):

• There will be an interview for the selected candidates after the Mains examination.
• The interview is of 100 marks.

5. Total Marks:

• The overall score for the whole MPPSC Examination is the total of the scores obtained in mains and interview scores.

MPPSC Prelims Syllabus

The examination is made up of the following two papers for MPPSC Prelims Examination:

1. Paper I – General Studies

Current Affairs / Current Events: Some important news and events concerning India and around the world.
